Humans have the tendency to avoid dealing with their emotions, because it can be a troublesome, to say the least. Emotions are here for a reason, as they tell us when we’re supposed to be feeling certain things; there are times when you can’t control your emotions, and people are wondering what that is all about. When you can’t control your emotions, it’s almost like your body is on auto-pilot and handling everything for you; that’s why a lot of people will claim to “see red” when they are incredibly mad. Some would say that emotions are simply there so that humans can communicate with one another, and show each other how we are feeling – but why do we feel in the first place? Why do humans experience all of these emotions, and why are we one of the only creatures that can be vocal about it?
When you’re suffering from depression, just know that you aren’t the first and you won’t be the last. Depression can play a role in just about every single life on this planet, and that’s because it’s simply a matter of chemical imbalances in your brain. Your brain is going to determine how your body feels at all times, and when you’re depressed, it’s because there is a lack of dopamine in your system (the chemical that makes you feel happy). When you take drugs and rely on getting your dopamine in that sense, it’s much easier to become depressed, which is why you see so many drug addicts down and out during their daily lives.
Depression is a major problem these days, as everyone is going to deal with it at some point. The only issue is that most people aren’t quite sure how it needs to be handled, and they let it eat away at them. Depression will have you staying inside for the majority of the day and avoiding interaction with people, but it could also lead to some much more drastic situations.
Depression can be handled through many different routes, one of which would simply call for you to talk to some friends and family. Talking to your friends and family about how you feel will allow you to breathe a bit easier, as well as just share how you feel. Getting stuff of of your chest is a must in most cases, as keeping it pent up is bound to make the depression even worse. Depression is a problem that plenty of people find themselves dealing with, and the only cure is going to be one that you fix up for yourself.
Get out a little more if possible and try to enjoy life. We always focus on the small things that we can’t control, when we should just be getting out there and living in general. You will miss out on a lot, sure, but you’ll also be getting into a lot of stuff as well! You can’t do everything in life, there’s just not enough time; but you can do what you’d like and be happy about it.
